Helping the Homeless
Island Mix servers helping at Strachan House Shelter Pickering's popular Island Mix restaurant dished out their delicious food at the 5th annual Homeless Shelter Banquet hosted by Loving You Charity in partnership with the Strachan House Shelter over the just concluded holidays. Loving You is a non-profit charitable organization which focuses on the Homeless, Youth entrepreneur Skills, General Community, and Prison Ministry. It is geared to the revitalizing of the homeless, mentorship of troubled youth, community workshops, and outreach programs which motivate and direct troubled people to live a more inspired life.

Island Mix is a Proud Sponsor of Sick Kids Pickering's Island Mix Restaurant recently made a sizeable donation to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, represernting proceeds from its charity golf tournament, held in Ajax in July.
Helping charitable causes is a regular act for the owners of the popular restaurant, located at Brock Road in Pickering.said Kevin Yusef, one of the owners. Here, Yusef is pictured handing over a cheque for $1500 from Island Mix to Christine Cleland from the Sick Kids foundation. In addition to the generous donations, Kemol Mohamed, another one of the owners, gave a further $300.00 personal donation.
